Brian W. Culver

Obituary

Brian William Culver, 57, of Freehold passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center after a courageous battle against Covid-19, with his loved ones by his side.

He was born and raised in Jersey City and lived in Old Bridge before settling down in Freehold in 2007. Brian was a patriot and member of the American Legion. He was a fervent defender of the ideals and freedoms of this country and served in the United States Army. Brian was a devout man who had a close personal relationship with God. He was a lover of all gods creatures and had a special place in his heart for his dog Tucker. Brian in his free time enjoyed taking his family on trips to vineyards and lighthouses.

He is predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Culver, his brothers, Robert Nolan, Raymond Nolan, and Gregory Nolan, and his loyal dog Tucker.

Brian is survived by his adoring wife, Christine Culver of Freehold; his children, Brian Culver-Grossmith and his husband, Chuck of Forked River, Samantha Culver of San Antonio, Texas, and Christine Culver of Elizabeth; his brothers, Jeff Nolan and his wife, Kathleen of Brick, Timothy Nolan and his wife, Anna of Brick, and Mark Culver and his wife, Roxanne of Old Bridge; Goddaughter, Raven Culver-Hayek and her husband, Jeffery of Freehold; parents in-law, Vera Arnold and her husband, Thomas of Vineland; brother in-law, Thomas Arnold and his wife, Lori of Bayville; Godmother, Aunt Mick Mellay and her husband, Donald of Bergenfield; cousin, Eileen Rodriguez and her husband, Alex of Clifton; his grand puppies, Tito and Bodhi; as well as many extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held at the
Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 1:00 to 4:30 PM with his funeral service to follow. Interment will be private. Donations may be made in Brian’s memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.

His friends at PATH were saddened to learn of the passing of Brian W. Culver on Tuesday, October 26, 2021

A dedicated employee with nearly 30 years of service, Brian, known as “Sarge” to his friends, began his career at PATH on November 18, 1991. Brian most recently held the title of Trackman III in the Track Division. He was also passionate about the 9/11 Memorial Park at the Consolidated Maintenance Facility, taking great pride in helping with its maintenance and upkeep.

Brian was born and raised in Jersey City and lived in Freehold, N.J. since 2007. A devout Christian and dedicated to his family, Brian also served in the U.S. Army.

Brian is survived by his wife Christine – who is also part of the PATH family as a Tower Operator – and their children, Brian Jr., Samantha, and Christine. Brian is also survived by his brothers Mark, Jeff, and Timothy.

Friends will be received at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton Adelphia Road, Freehold, N.J. on Saturday, October 30 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow. The burial will be private, per the family’s wishes.
