Obituary

His friends at the Port Authority were saddened to learn of the passing of Raymond E. Zimmerman on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Raymond joined the Port Authority family on January 21, 2002 as a General Maintainer.

Through his hard work and dedication over 18 years of service, he moved up in the maintenance ranks to hold his most recent title of Structural Maintenance Mechanic in the Tunnels, Bridges and Terminals Department at the Holland Tunnel. 

Raymond was a highly valued and talented employee. His colleagues could always count on him to find creative problem-solving solutions, all while making it look easy. He selflessly shared his knowledge and skills with his peers in the Maintenance Shops, and will be sorely missed.

Raymond, who loved spending time with his family, is survived by his sons Cody and Randy, his mother Florence and sisters Christine and April.
