Hiloreen Woods-Hyatt

Obituary
Her many
friends and colleagues throughout the agency have been
deeply mourning the passing of Hiloreen Woods-Hyatt, a
35-year veteran of the Port Authority, who left us on
January 22.
She was 54
years old. She is survived by her husband, Leslie Hyatt;
her daughter, Jenae Woods; her son, Jeiani Woods; and
her siblings Venereen Lee, Sharon Lee, Delsia Woods, and
William Woods.
Hiloreen, who held the role of Special Events
Representative in the Marketing Department, was known
throughout the organization for her outstanding work and
constant positivity in managing events across the
spectrum – from PAPD graduation to the annual MLK
Breakfast to the memorial ceremonies for the 1993 World
Trade Center bombing and of course September 11th
ceremonies – and many, many others. Hiloreen joined the
Port Authority in 1985 in the Engineering Department and
held roles in Public Affairs, Media Relations and
Government & Community Relations, prior to joining
Marketing.
Friends and relatives will be received on Friday,
February 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the New Testament
Temple, Church of God, 3350 Seymour Avenue, Bronx, NY
10469. A service will be held at 7 p.m. A second
visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 9
a.m. followed by interment.
Parking is extremely limited at the church. Public
transit (via the 5 line to Gun Hill Road) and carpooling
are encouraged.

We will hold a Moment of Silence at the agency’s
February Board meeting to honor her memory.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Hiloreen’s
family, friends and the colleagues who cherished her
during this difficult time.
