Obituary

Robert Ralph Vazquez, 73, of Pearl River, NY, passed away on September 24, 2020.

Robert was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 17, 1947. After graduating from high school, he joined the US Army and served in the Infantry. After being honorably discharged, Robert began a lifelong career in law enforcement, faithfully serving for over 37 years with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department.

He had a love for classic cars, especially his 1955 model year Chevrolets, and devoted his free time to restoring and racing his cherry red 1955 Chevy Bel Air on the weekends at Island and Englishtown Raceways in New Jersey.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Vannessa Vazquez-Sellman of Phoenix, AZ and Leigh Vazquez of Piermont, NY, his grandson Austin Vazquez, his sisters Lucille Conte of Florida, Lisa Cardillo (Michael) of Highland Mills, NY, and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by both his mother and father, Bolivar and Marguerite Vazquez, formerly of Pearl River, NY and his sister, Linda Vazquez, formerly of Redington Shores, FL .
