Ellen “Eileen” Spencer December 2, 1949 - April 14, 2020 Obituary Ellen “Eileen” Spencer (Nee Fox), age 70, whose life was defined by her love of family, faith and friends passed away from Covid-19 on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh NY. She was born December 2,1949, in the Bronx NY, to James “Jim” and Mary Fox. She was a graduate of St. Pius High School. She married John Francis Spencer III (Jack) on June 14, 1975, in St. Nicholas of Tolentine. She worked as a principal’s assistant in the East Ramapo School District. Ellen truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with family and friends, reading, attending Broadway musicals and Mass at both St. Anthony’s in Nanuet and St. Rosalie’s in the Hampton Bays. She also loved every minute she spent with her sons and cherished her role as Momma “Jack” with her three grandchildren. Ellen always put everyone else first and had an uncanny ability to strike up a conversation with all. Ellen was one of the kindest people you ever could meet. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jack, sons John Francis IV (Jennifer), James (Alison), Kevin (Katherine), her granddaughters, Emilie and Jaimie, and grandson, John Francis V. She is also survived by her sister Ann (Patrick) Morgan, sister in law Cathy (Frederick) Revis, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children. A memorial mass will be held at a future date.
