Carmen Richard “Rick” Sorvillo, 73, of Massapequa, NY passed away on December 11, 2020.

He responded to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Rick proudly ended his career at the Port Authority as the Project Manager of the World Trade Center Transportation Hub Oculus.

Rick dedicated his life to family, work, and his community. He was his daughters’ softball coach, served on the Massapequa School Board from 1993 - 1999, and was the past president and longtime member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) – NYC Chapter. He was an avid Dodgers fan, Spring Training enthusiast, curator of sports and entertainment memorabilia, Dion and Doo Wop devotee, world traveler, and enjoyed spending time with his family at their Lake St. Catherine, Vermont home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (www.tunnel2towers.org) would be appreciated.

All CDC recommended guidelines will apply to everyone entering the building; face coverings must be worn at all times, social distancing throughout the premises, limited physical and interaction.

Because of the limited capacity regulations (33% which equals 40 people at a time in the chapel at Powell Funeral Home, Inc.) as set by New York State, we ask that all visitors limit their time with the family so as to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to pay their respects. As people vacate the building, additional mourners will be permitted to enter.
