Obituary

Her friends at the Port Authority were saddened to learn of the passing of Josephine Shivers on April 23. Josephine joined the Port Authority family on January 26, 2015 as an Engineering Document Coordinator in the Construction Management Division of the Engineering Department.

Josephine is survived by her son, Robert. Josephine had many health challenges in the last couple of years that would have ruined the spirits of many, but she never complained and only occasionally missed work, partially knowing that she could be the only one to get the job done. When, in February of 2019, she finally had to take a leave of absence, it took a team of people almost a year to bring the work back to the level she had it. She loved her work, and her presence in the office will be sorely missed.

Although immediate services will be private per the family’s wishes, a celebration of life memorial service will be held at a time when such gatherings are deemed safe. In the meantime, those wishing to may plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Josephine by visiting the O’Boyle Funeral Home’s Memorial Tree Tribute Store. Our thoughts and sympathy are with Josephine’s family, friends, and colleagues.
