Obituary

Retired Lt. Peter Cavallo, passed away recently. He was just short of 90 years old! Per his son, Peter, his wife, Mary, was at his side.

Pete was a veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving in the US Army from 1951-1953 in Germany with the 7th Army 63rd AAA 90mm gun Battalion. He became a Police Officer for the Port Authority of NY & NJ in 1959. Known affectionately as “the Ironman,” he served as Cop, Sergeant and Lieutenant at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, retiring in 1980 and relocating to the West Coast.

Pete continued his service by volunteering for over 20 years as lead coordinator for the AARP senior Citizen Tax Center. He was an avid New York Yankee fan and had a great love of thoroughbred racing!

Due to Covid, a Military Honors Ceremony is pending, and will be held at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.
