Obituary

Brian L. O’Mara, 51, died November 1, 2019. At the time of his death, he held the position of Engineer, PATH Transportation.  Born in Jersey City, he moved to North Arlington 22 years ago. He was a railroad engineer for the PATH Corporation for the past 16 years and a proud member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen.

Brian enjoyed sports. He was a huge N.Y. Mets fan and enjoyed cheering for his two sons, Matthew and John at their many Basketball and Little League Baseball games. An easy person to talk to, he made friends everywhere he went and often spoke of his proud Irish Heritage.

He is the devoted husband of Nidia (nee Rodriguez), the loving father of Matthew Robert and John Michael, the dear son of the late John and Catherine O’Mara, the cherished brother of Robert O’Mara and his wife Loni, Dennis O’Mara, Krystal O’Mara, and the late Doreen, William and John O’Mara Jr. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends and all who were privileged to know him.

Visitation will be held at the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington on Friday, November 8, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. The Funeral Prayer Service will begin at 7:30 P.M. A private cremation will follow.
