Obituary
Raymond
P. Mannion, 75 of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully
on June 26, 2019 surrounded by his family and loved
ones.
Ray is
survived by his partner Anne Stoya of Naples, FL; 4
children, Ray Mannion, Jr. of Oneonta, NY, Maureen
Redmond and her husband Robert of Easly, SC, Patricia
Mannion and her husband Caleb Giddings of Miami, FL and
Kathleen Mannion and her wife Luetta Probst of Seattle,
WA; 2 grandchildren Alex and Christina Mannion, and many
nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his
wife Maura and his 2 older brothers Richard and Robert
Mannion.
Born June 30, 1943 to Adrian and Marie Mannion in Floral
Park, NY, Ray grew up in Brooklyn NY. After graduating
Notre Dame University, Ray served for 2 years in
Vietnam. Rising from the position of entry level
accountant to comptroller of the Port Authority of New
York and New Jersey, he retired in 1999 after 35 years.
His experience was sought by the city of Fort Lauderdale
where he then served for 3 years as Finance director,
reporting to the city manager. Ray spent his remaining
years retired in Naples, FL golfing, bowling, and
traveling with his partner Anne Stoya.
An avid golfer and skilled chess player, he was a member
of the Knights of Columbus and served on the board of
many charitable organizations including Sacred Heart
Church, Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY.
Accurately and succinctly described by his former boss
as "a man who says what he means and means what he
says", Ray is remembered for his strong work ethic,
creativity, and generosity.
His family will greet friends at Scarr Funeral Home in
Suffern, NY from 5-8pm on Sunday June 30 with funeral
services at Sacred Heart Church on Monday at 11am. In
lieu of flowers, donations made to St. Jude's Children's
Hospital: 501 St. Jude Place - Memphis, TN 38106

Ray passed on in the morning. All of his family was with
him at the end.
Thank you

heartbroken by the loss of our Dad, Ray Mannion.
