In Memoriam
His friends at the Port Authority were
saddened to learn of the passing of Police Officer
William J. Leahy, on Thursday, June 6. Police
Officer Leahy passed away after a hard-fought battle
with cancer related to his courageous and selfless work
as a 9/11 first responder. Police Officer Leahy is
survived by his parents, William and Kathleen Leahy.
Police Officer Leahy joined the Port
Authority on April 26, 1993. At the time of his death,
he was assigned to John F. Kennedy International
Airport.
Wake services will be held from 2 to 4
p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, and Sunday,
June 9, at Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Home, located at
2515 N. Jerusalem Road in East Meadow, NY.
Friends and relatives will be received
for a Mass at noon on Monday, June 10, at St. Louis De
Montfort Roman Catholic Church, located at 75 New York
Avenue in Sound Beach, NY.
Interment will immediately follow the
Mass at St. Charles Cemetery, located at 2015 Wellwood
Avenue in Farmingdale, NY.
Our thoughts and sympathy are with Police
Officer Leahy’s family, friends, and
colleagues.

Mass of Christian Burial
will be held Monday, 12 pm, at St. Louis de Montfort R.C.
Church in Sound Beach, NY. Entombment to follow at St.
Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
