Robert F. Brack Sr.

Obituary

My dad, my hero and best friend, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019.  He will be honored by his Highly Decorated Status as a Special Forces Green Beret Airborne, served 4 tours in Vietnam, silver star recipient, Purple Heart, 2 Bronze stars.

Robert F. Brack, Sr., 73, of West Caldwell, New Jersey passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019. Beloved husband of Rosa Brack. Loving father of Nicole Pezzola, Bobby Brack & his wife Christine, and Brian Brack. Cherished grandfather of Micaela, Dante, & Penelope. Former husband of Barbara Brack, the mother of their three children. Mr. Brack was a veteran of the US Army serving four tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He was a Staff Sergeant of the 5th Special Forces Group(Airborne).

Combat: Khe Sanh, A101 1965, I Corp C-Team S-2 & Psy Ops 1966, Thuong Duc, A-109 1968, Mobile Mike Force, Mobile Strike Force 1967,1968,1969.

Medals/Achievements: Silver Star, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster with V device for Valor(2nd Award), Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry for Valor(1st Award), Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm(2nd Award for Valor), Purple Heart, Air Medal, Combat Infantry Badge(Jan. 1966), Six Over Seas Combat Service Bars, GCM 2nd Award, National Defense Service Medal, Airborne Parachute Badge, and Five Campaign Ribbons. Robert was a member of the Special Forces Association. He was a Port Authority Police Officer for 25 years before retiring in 1996. Friends will be received Sunday 2-6PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Spring, MD 20910. To pay tribute to the way Bob lived his life please keep veterans in your thought, and greet them with this phrase he would utter, “Thank you for your service and WELCOME HOME”.

To honor his dedicated service to our country Mr. Brack will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery, 1 Memorial Avenue, Arlington, VA.
