Obituary

Dad was so proud to have served with the PAPD and told stories at every family gathering. From 1961 - 1981 he worked for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department. During this time, 100 crimes were closed due to his skills in photography, visual aids, and composite drawings.

He wore his retirement ring since 1981 until his last breath. My Dad created the patch we wear on our uniform today. As the PAPD artist back in the day he created several designs to pick from. Very proud that I got his shield number “476” and I wore the patch he created and honored to have worn his shield number.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of 62 years, 4 children, 17 Grand Children and 2 Great Grandchildren. He was an established Artist and was the past President of the International Cops for Christ. And he was my HERO.

His service is being held at the mausoleum at Grandview Cemetery. 2735 Walbert Ave., Allentown, PA. on April 17, 2018 from 11-1. We have to wait for family to get into town. Thank you for the kind words.

Fraternally yours
Joe Scarano
