Al was a phenomenal athlete at Cliffside Park H.S. excelling in football, basketball, baseball and track. He was known to go from the baseball field and then run the 100 yd dash. He earned an athletic scholarship to Muhlenberg College and played in the prestigious National Invitation Tournament (NIT) which at the time was more notable than the NCAA Tournament and March Madness. He later played professional football and basketball. He then served proudly in the Army Paratroopers, 82nd Airborne. He then served in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the early 50's as an undercover operative in Eastern Europe.

He began a career in Public Transportation as the General Manager in the Port Authority of NY & NJ during the 1970's. Albert was one of the six Founding Fathers of NJ Transit which became the model of public transportation in the 1990's. As a high level executive at all of his jobs he always had time to say "hi" and "how are you" to receptionists, janitors and secretaries, etc. He was not only a gentleman but a "Gentle Man".

He was known by all as having a great sense of humor, a smile for everyone and the life of the party. He and his wife travelled extensively throughout their lives alone and with good friends. He will be dearly missed by all that were lucky enough to know him.
