Obituary

Meyer, Robert W. (89), of Tenafly, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, November 4th, 2018.

Bob, born in 1929 and raised in Ridgefield, N.J., was the beloved son of Margaret and A. W. Meyer. He is survived by his loving wife, Doris of 61 years and by his devoted children, Jean Meyer Brex and her husband Bill and Warren W. Meyer and his wife Angela. Bob was a caring grandfather of Ryan A. Meyer and Riesling M. Meyer. He is also survived by many cousins.

Bob graduated from Steven's Institute of Technology with a Mechanical Engineer degree in 1950 and a Master's Degree in 1954. After four years with Alcoa, he began a 30-year career with the New York Port Authority.

Twenty-five of those years he served as senior engineer in the construction and early operation of the mechanical systems of the World Trade Center. Bob retired in 1984 and he and his wife enjoyed traveling the world throughout 37 countries in 6 out of 7 continents.

Visitation on Friday, November 9th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service Saturday, November 10th at 11:00, internment to follow at Brookside Cemetery in Englewood. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Presbyterian Church of Tenafly, in memory of Bob, would be greatly appreciated.
