Obituary

Francis (Frank) Xavier Kraft 86, passed away June 8, 2018. Frank was born in Jersey City, NJ on September 29, 1931, and previously resided in Bergen County before moving to Bridgewater to live with his daughter Kimberly.

He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War earning the Korean Service Medal, China Service medal, United Nations Service medal and National Defense medal. Frank was a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. Frank had a lifetime career as a Port Authority Police Officer where he filled many roles at PAPD before retiring as a Lieutenant at Newark Airport in 1994. He was a member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, fine dining and going to the beach. He will be sadly missed by all.

Frank is predeceased by his parents (Frank and Helen) and a cherished brother of Helen Kraft.
Surviving are his daughter Kimberly Kraft-Doran and her husband Jim and his Three cherished grandchildren, Meghan, Liam and Sean.

Visitation will be 8:30am Wednesday at the Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville, followed by a 930am mass at Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Ave. Somerville. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association Widow and Children’s Fund in Frank’s name, 611 Palisade Ave, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632.
