In Memory of
Peter T. (Pete) Caram
December 11, 1947 - August 13, 2018
Obituary
Peter, “Pete” Caram, 70, of Freehold, passed away
peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on
August 13, 2018 after an inspirational battle with
pancreatic cancer.
Peter was born on December 11, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY to
the late Thomas and Victoria Caram. Pete graduated from
Millbrook High School in 1965, and shortly thereafter
enlisted in the United States Air Force. He would go on
to serve his country in the Vietnam War from 1966-67.
Upon completion of his service, he joined the Port
Authority Police Department in 1973. During this time,
he received his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice
from NJIT in 1978. Pete would give 25 years of
distinguished service to the PAPD, rising to the rank of
Detective Sergeant the head of the New York Port
Authority’s Terrorist Intelligence Unit before retiring
in 1998.
Pete was considered a national expert in the field of
counter terrorism, authoring a book on the 1993 World
Trade Center bombing. He cross-collaborated with
numerous government intelligence agencies sharing his
vast expertise in the field.
Pete would be the first to say that his greatest
achievement was his loving family. He was a voracious
hunter, gun enthusiast, avid golfer, and would never
pass up a trip to Atlantic City. He could usually be
found on his deck with his family smoking his pipe
sharing laughs.
Left to mourn his memory are his beloved wife of 42
years Madeline, his son Christian and wife Alyssa,
daughter Courtney and husband Michael, sister Theresa
Cincotta, and the absolute joys of his life,
grandchildren Giuliana, Henry and James.
In his lifetime, Pete has touched countless lives and
will be missed my many.
Calling hours will be at Freeman Funeral Home, West Main
Street, Freehold, NJ. Sunday 8/19 from 2-4pm and Monday
