Obituary

THERESA F. CALLAGHAN, 77, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at home. She was born in Manhattan, NY, and resided in Jackson Twp. for the last 41 years.  Theresa was employed as a Manager for Burger King, retiring 20 years ago.  She was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Twp., and a member of the Jackson Vics Soccer Club.

Terry, Frankie, Cookie or Mrs. C, however you knew her, Mom was a kind and loving soul that demonstrated hard work, dedication, duty, but above all, love of family and unquestionable support. She was always first to ask how she could help, what she could do, or how she could contribute in any situation.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Helen Cooke; her brother, Charles Cooke; and by her beautiful granddaughter, Jessica Fouts. Theresa is survived by her husband of 55 years, John F. Callaghan; her children and their spouses, Helen Hoever, Frank and Kerry Callaghan, Barbara and Michael Raccuglia, Doreen and Ken Kitto; her 7 grandchildren; Theresa and Stephen Wilson, Charles Hoever, Michael Raccuglia Jr., Nicole Raccuglia, Morgan Callaghan, John Callaghan, Gina Raccuglia; her 2 great grandchildren, Melody Wilson, and Michael Wilson. She will also be remembered by her sisters- in-law, nieces and nephews, and the many cousins under the “Granny O” umbrella, many of whom were like brothers and sisters to her.

She loved all fiercely. One of her favorite lines was “I will come back and haunt you if...” So, if you had an outstanding “if” with her, be prepared as she was a woman of her word, and expect her to be visiting you.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 4-8 PM on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 7:45 AM on Monday, June 11, 2018, at the funeral home. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:00 AM at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, 250 Old Squan Rd., Brick, NJ 08724. A private cremation will follow.
