Obituary

Deputy Inspector William J. Cox

William Joseph Cox, 82 passed away on February 8, 2017.

He was survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Janice and daughter Leslie, beloved son-in-law David Zaleski and granddaughter Caitlin Zaleski. He was predeceased by his loving son, Kevin.

William Cox was born on May 19, 1934 and was the son of late Frances and Catharine (Aylmer) Cox. He was one of six boys Francis, Thomas, Robert, John (Jack), and Joseph.

After serving in the US Navy, Bill began his career with the Port Authority of NY and NJ. His career meant a lot to Bill, achieving his goals as Captain, Chief of Detectives, and concluding his career as Deputy Inspector Commanding Officer at LaGuardia Airport.

Bill enjoyed his retirement along with his wife Janice, spending winters in Florida and working on his property in the mountains of North Carolina.

We welcome family and friends to a memorial service which will be held to honor Bill on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 12 noon at Christ Episcopal Church, 400 Ramapo Avenue, Pompton Lakes, NJ 07442. There will be a repass immediately following at the church’s guild hall.
