Paul E. Lier

Obituary

Paul E. Lier, age 88, of Monroe, NY passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St Luke's Cornwall Hospital of Newburgh, NY. Mr. Lier was born May 21, 1928 in New York, NY. He is the son of the late Fritz and the late Anna (Seifert) Lier.

He served in the US Army during the Korean war from 12/14/1950 to 11/26/1952 where he received three bronze service stars. He was a proud veteran.  

Paul worked as a mechanic for the Port Authority of New York where he retired. He enjoyed camping and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Catherine (Miller) Lier and their 5 children: William Castle and wife Joann; Paul G. Lier and his wife Julia; Lynne Wappel and her husband Ken; Jacquelyn Castle and Janet Lockwood and her husband Grant. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and a great-grandson

There will be a visitation on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home ,15 Furnace Road, Chester, NJ 07930. There will be a funeral service at 4:00pm following the visitation on Saturday.

A Graveside Service will take place Wednesday, April 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at Washington Crossing National Veterans Cemetery in Newtown, PA.

The funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:00am Wednesday morning for those wishing to follow in procession to the cemetery.
