Owen Michael Koehler

Obituary

Owen Michael Koehler was granted his angel wings on June 22, 2017 following his battle with brain cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family. Owen leaves behind his parents, Mike and Kate Koehler of Lacey; brother Jack; sister Ella; paternal grandparents Warren and Elizabeth Koehler; maternal grandparents Jerome and Carol Brandt; Uncle Chris and Aunt Tracy VanNortwick; Aunt Liz and Uncle Tony Nessler; and seven cousins Maddy, Kayla, AJ, Matt, Brady, Evie and Abby.

He is predeceased by his paternal great grandmother Isabella Forino; Uncle Chris Brandt and Uncle Warren Koehler.

Above all, Owen loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing with his siblings and cousins, traveling on family vacations, going the beach and attending Giants games. Owen always placed family first in everything that he did.

In 11 short years, Owen taught us more about life and love than we ever could have learned without him. Those who were touched by him understand that the quality of life far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Owen possessed strength, perseverance and an ability to overcome many challenges. Through his courage, he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and a new opportunity to create lasting memories.

With Owen's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every second of everyday, he will forever remain in our hearts. It has been a privilege to be his parents.
