WWII 
						veteran, beloved husband and father of six, retired 
						manager of Port Authority TB&T Facilities,  Harold 
						A. Milley passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving, 
						November 24, 2016, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall, PA. 
						Mr. Milley was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 12, 
						1924. He served in the Marine Corps for four years 
						during World War II in the Pacific theater having 
						battled in such places as Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Guam and at 
						Guadalcanal.
						
						
						
						
						Mr. Milley earned his bachelor’s degree in Business 
						Administration from St. John’s University in 1956, and 
						did graduate work at New York University, Seton Hall 
						University and as well as having completed coursework at 
						The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
						
						
						
						
						Hal resided in Florham Park, NJ for many years while he 
						was employed by the Port Authority of New York and New 
						Jersey. He began his career with them in 1948 as a Port 
						Authority Police Officer. Mr. Milley continued with the 
						Port Authority in increased responsibilities and became 
						the Assistant to the Director of Bridges and Tunnels in 
						1958, and Assistant Manager of the Lincoln Tunnel in 
						1961, then Assistant Manager of the George Washington 
						Bridge in 1964, Manager of the George Washington Bridge 
						in 1968. He then became Manager, Tunnels Bridges & 
						Terminals until his retirement in 1979.
						
						
						
						
						Following his retirement, he and his wife, Elaine, 
						resided in Toms River, NJ. He was one of the original 
						eight who organized the Port Authority Retirees 
						Association and served as its first president. He was an 
						avid tennis player and enjoyed trips to his vacation 
						home in the Adirondack Mountains. He and his wife also 
						enjoyed years of ballroom dancing together and decades 
						of playing cards with their bridge club.
						
						
						Hal was predeceased by his parents, Harold J. Milley and 
						Mary E. Milley, his three brothers, Jack, Frank and Tom 
						Milley and a son, Gregory P. Milley. He is survived by 
						his wife of 72 years, E. Elaine Milley, of Saylorsburg, 
						PA, a son Kevin Milley (Beverly) of Savannah, GA, a 
						daughter Barbara Migliaccio (Tom) of Saylorsburg, PA, a 
						daughter Katherine Milley Wood of Lake Ariel, PA, a 
						daughter Jacqueline Bowers (Clark) of Pittstown, NJ and 
						a daughter Colleen Milley Dritschel of Washington, NJ. 
						Hal is also survived by many grandchildren and 
						great-grandchildren.
						
						
						
						
						A Funeral Mass in his honor will be held at St. 
						Catherine of Siena, on White Bridge Rd., Pittstown at 
						11:30 AM Friday, December 9, 2016. Harold’s final 
						interment will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle 
						Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of 
						flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made 
						to the Alzheimer’s Foundation (ALZFDN.ORG).
