Nicholas 
						J. Manicone Mass is on Saturday for Port Authority 
						engineer, former North Brunswick resident, 87 Nicholas 
						J. Manicone died Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at St. Peter's 
						University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J. He was 87. 
						
						
						
						Funeral services will be at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday from 
						Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick, 
						N.J., followed by a 9 a.m. Mass at St. Mary of Mt. 
						Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Burial will follow in 
						Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick, N.J. Friends 
						and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday 
						from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. 
						
						
						
						Born in Jersey City, N.J., Nicholas lived there before 
						moving to North Brunswick in 1976. He was a resident at 
						Sunrise Assisted Living in East Brunswick, N.J., for the 
						past year and a half. He graduated from Snyder High 
						School in Jersey City in 1946. 
						
						
						
						Nicholas and was employed at Colgate's engineering 
						department while attending Jersey City Junior College, 
						graduating in 1948. He entered Cooper Union in 1949 and 
						was drafted into the United States Army in 1952, where 
						he was commissioned a 2nd lieutenant assigned to Float 
						Bridge Company at Fort Lewis, Wash., for 18 months. 
						
						
						
						Mr. Manicone returned from the military, received a 
						B.S.C.E. at Cooper Union, and worked for several 
						engineer firms before joining the Port Authority of New 
						York and New Jersey; he retired in 1992 after 25 years. 
						
						
						
						He was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. 
						Church in New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his 
						parents, Lucia (D'Erasmo) and Michele Manicone, and by 
						his sister, Clara G. Manicone. Surviving are his sister, 
						Orsola Cilino and her husband, Frank, of Hamilton 
						Square, N.J.; two brothers, Antonio Manicone and his 
						wife, Delia, of East Brunswick and George F. Manicone 
						and his wife, Carolyn, of Middlesex, N.J.; nephews, 
						Michael Cilino, Anthony Manicone II and his wife, Susy, 
						and George M. Manicone and his wife, Beth; nieces, Carol 
						Hills and her husband, William, Laura Lin and her 
						husband, A-Hu, and Cynthia Connolly; great-nieces and 
						nephews, Maria and Alexander Lin, Danielle and David 
						Hills, Tiffany Manicone, Izabella and Abigail Connolly, 
						and Axel Manicone.
