Frank 
						X. Landrigan, 87, of Ramsey, NJ (formerly of East 
						Rutherford and North Bergen) passed away on October 13, 
						2016.
						
						
						A New York University graduate and financial analyst, 
						Frank retired in 1989 having worked 43 years in public 
						accounting, US Navy, local hotel, defense contractor and 
						the Port of Authority of NY and NJ.
						
						
						
A 
						yeoman in the US Navy, he served during the Korean War 
						on maneuvers in the North Atlantic, the Mediterranean 
						Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Arctic Ocean,and the Irish Sea 
						St. George Channel. In 1952 his destroyer, the USS 
						Melvin DD680 was damaged in a collision with the Swedish 
						Motor ship (Freighter) Stavangerfjord while passing 
						through the Straits of Gibraltar. The severed aft 
						section of the USS Melvin was later repaired in England.
						
						
						A former Grand Knight of North Bergen Knights of 
						Columbus Council 3630, as well as a member of Augustus 
						American Legion Post 273 in Madeira Beach, Florida which 
						has the largest membership in the world. Active in 
						politics, He ran for North Bergen Commissioner, North 
						Bergen Board of Education, Hudson County Sheriff, Hudson 
						County Executive, Hudson County Surrogate and NJ 
						Assembly.
						
						
						He is survived by his loving wife Rita M. Ruffino (nee 
						Iannone), his children Kevin, Terence, and Kathleen, and 
						nine grandchildren.  Predeceased by his wife Mary 
						Lou Landrigan (nee Jennings), his son Eugene, siblings 
						Grace Johnson, Ruth, Bob, Jack, James and Claire 
						Landrigan.
						Funeral Service Sunday October 16, 2016 at 6:30 PM at 
						the Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home 41 Ames Ave 
						Rutherford, NJ. Family and Friends will be received 
						Sunday from 4-8 PM. Private Cremation.
