I don't have an Obituary yet so I will post the feelings from the emails I received:

Retired after 48 years Detective & Sgt. John Escobar who also served in the US Navy had a massive stroke after being ill for a while. Let's pray for John Escobar & his family, he is & has been a friend, a good cop, a good sergeant, a caring family man, & served this country well while being in the US Navy, God bless

Thoughts and Prayers from PAPD members:

With the loss of Tom Hickey and John Escobar so close together, we, who had the pleasure of working with these two fine men, again realize how fragile this life really is. This Port Authority family of ours has suffered great losses in the past many years due to terrorism, illness and other factors. All good men and women who wore their uniforms well and honored their oath of office. We all went to work knowing that these brother officers would have our back if things went wrong. Now they are gone.  We must honor their lives by never letting their memories fade from our hearts. Remember them each and every day and pray that they rest in peace.
