Obituary
Elise
Bastardo, 24, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016.
She passed peacefully, with her family by her side, as a
result of injuries sustained in a car accident.
Elise was
born on April 14, 1991 in Red Bank, NJ and grew up in
Wall Township, NJ. She was a graduate of Wall High
School, where she was an accomplished athlete and was
selected to the 2009 All State field hockey team. Elise
graduated from Rutgers University Cum Laude in 2013 with
a BA in Psychology and Criminal Justice and a minor in
Criminology. She went on to become a recruit in the Port
Authority Police Academy where she was selected to be a
platoon leader. Elise was a member of the 113th Police
Academy Class and was assigned to the Newark Airport
Command. She was also a member of the Port Authority
Police Benevolent Association. She was a proud member of
the Governor William Livingston Chapter, Spring Lake,
New Jersey- Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Elise is
remembered for her beautiful smile, adventurous spirit,
and kind heart. She was loved and admired by her family
and all who knew her. She enjoyed living life to its
fullest each and every day, and inspired others to
follow in her footsteps. Even in her death Elise’s
generous nature will touch the lives of those that she
helped through the donation of her organs through the
Sharing Network.
Elise is
survived by her parents John and Susan Bastardo (Wall,
NJ); maternal grandmother Helen Price (Wall, NJ); sister
Amanda Reed and brother-in-law Ben Reed (Naples, Italy);
brother John Bastardo (Wall, NJ); cousins Anthony
(Stratford, CT) and Peter Trapanese ; her Godmother (in
Confirmation) Mary Joan Renna and her husband Salvatore
of Linden and numerous relatives and friends. She
is preceded in death by John and Anita Bastardo
(grandparents), Eugene H. Price (grandfather), Diane
Trapanese (aunt).
Family and
friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday
February 16 and Wednesday February 17 from 4:00pm -
8:00pm on both days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
held 11:00am on Thursday February 18 at St. Denis Church
90 Union Avenue, Manasquan. Entombment to follow at St.
Anne’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donation
may be made to the Port Authority PBA Widows and
Childrens Fund 611 Palisade Avenue, Englewood Cliffs,
