In Memory of

Harold R. Williams

Obituary

I am writing to inform you of the passing of my dad, Harold R. Williams. He worked for the Port Authority of NY and NJ for over 35 years and he LOVED his job.

He retired in 1994 and continued to spread joy and his immeasurable love of all things Port Authority until he passed away on December 12, 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Harold Williams was born in New York, NY and later went on to serve proudly in the US Army fighting in the Korean War before returning to NY to work for The Port Authority of NY and NJ. . He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Loyce Williams, four sons, Harold Jr., Hugh, Lloyd and Leon, his sister Alberta Thomas, two granddaughters and a brand new great grandson.

One of my absolute favorite memories of my dad was when we were kids and we would drive over any bridge or through any tunnel in and around New York and New Jersey and he would quiz everyone in the car to make sure we always knew exactly which bridge we were on. What a great memory to have whenever entering a tunnel or bridge. A great man with an incredible work ethic and a booming baritone voice that would make even the iciest of women swoon.

Thank you,
Leon Williams
