Obituary
Louis
V. Rohr of Naples, Florida peacefully passed away on
December 31, 2015 at the age of 99 "and a half".
He is reunited with his beloved wife of 52 years Anna,
parents Anna and Phillip Rohr, and siblings Phillip, Sr.
Katherine, and Thomas.
Lou is a proud alumnus of Holy Spirit High School in
Atlantic City, The Wharton School of Business, St.
John's University, and New York University.
He worked for the Dept. of Agriculture until he enlisted
in WWII and served in the South Pacific as a US Marine
Corp. Sergeant. Upon discharge, he returned to the Dept.
of Agriculture and attended night school.
In October 1954 Lou married Anna Rose French and began
his accounting career with the Port Authority of New
York and New Jersey. They lived in Franklin Square with
their daughter Pati. In 1989 they moved to Naples at the
urging of Anna's sister and brother-in-law, Flora and
George McNamara.
Lou was the innovator and initiator of many improvements
to the PA's accounting system including: authoring an
account code system, computerization of the accounting
manual, and streamlining processes to facilitate
accounting complexities encountered during construction
of the World Trade Center. Accustomed to attending night
school, he spent evenings pursuing his great passion:
the written word. He is the published author of five
novels. He enjoyed writing letters to the Naples Daily
News Editor. He often championed the Pro-Life Movement.
He was a parishioner of St. William's and a Member of
Knights of Columbus.
Lou is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Pati and
Ken Krisch, nephew Joseph Rohr, and numerous Canadian
nieces and nephews.

Louis V. Rohr, born in Atlantic City, NJ, was a student
of philosophy and literature, a Marine Corps Sergeant
during World War II, a BBA graduate from St. John's, a
MBA graduate from New York University, and an accountant
for the Port Authority of NY and NJ. He is the author of
The Visions of Joe Smith and The President’s Hero. He
lives in Naples, Florida.
In the 1960s, Lou had a key job in what was called the
Classification Section of the Accounting Division. He
assisted the legendary Moe Markowitz, the Classification
Supervisor. In those days a bill could not be paid
unless the accounting code was reviewed and stamped with
the initials MM or LV. On rare occasions, Andy Jensen,
the third person in that Section was permitted to stamp
a code. Lou later went on to work in other accountant
roles.
