						Charles J. Podesta Jr. Retired airport operations 
						manager enjoyed golf, bowling, and travel Charles J. 
						Podesta Jr., 80, an avid golfer, bowler and traveler, 
						passed away on Aug. 19, 2015, at his home, surrounded by 
						his family. 
						
						
						
						The funeral will be from the Parow Funeral Home, 185 
						Ridge Rd., North Arlington, N.J., on Saturday, Aug. 22, 
						at 9 a.m., then to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, North 
						Arlington, for the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Private 
						cremation will follow. Visitation will be at the funeral 
						home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. 
						
						
						
						Born in Secaucus, N.J., Charles lived in North Arlington 
						for the past 58 years, and served in the Army National 
						Guard. He retired in 1990 after working for 39 years as 
						an operations manager at the airports controlled by the 
						Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Charles was a 
						member of Unico National District 7, and a member of the 
						Old Guard of Nutley. 
						
						
						
						Charles was the beloved husband for 57 years of Mary Ann 
						(nee Shields); cherished father of Charles and his wife, 
						Patricia, Lisa Miller and her husband, Kirk, and John 
						and his wife, Lori; adored grandfather of Stephanie, 
						Kirk, Charlie, Jaclyn, Kimberly, and John; 
						great-grandfather of Emma; dear brother-in-law of 
						Germaine MacAuley, John and Victoria Shields, and loving 
						uncle of many nieces and nephews.
