Obituary

George J. Majorossy - Port Authority employee George J. Majorossy, 78, of Pawley's Island, S.C., passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Acute Care Specialty Hospital Lakewood, N.J.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River, N.J. Cremation will be private. www.silvertonmemorial.com

George worked for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for over 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Tradition Men’s Golf Club, the Tradition Gold Tee Golf Association and the Birthday Club.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Clare McNamara Majorossy; his four children, Edward (Jackie) Majorossy, Carole (George) Tolmachewich, Steven (Giuseppina) Majorossy, and Christine (Paul) Grygiel. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, his brother, William (Terry) Majorossy, sister, Barbara (Don) Fisher, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward P. Majorossy, and sister, Christine Gillis.
