						August (Gus) M. Godine Sr. Longtime Port Authority 
                        accountant, WWII veteran, 91 August 'Gus' M. Godine Sr. 
                        passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015, in the Merry Heart 
                        Health Care Center in Succasunna, N.J. He was 91. 
						
						
						
						Born and raised in Belleville, N.J., Gus lived in 
                        Bloomfield, N.J., before moving to Stanhope, N.J., in 
                        1975. He graduated with a B.S. in accounting from Pace 
                        University in New York City and served in the United 
                        States Navy during World War II before being honorably 
                        discharged. 
						
						
						
						He was an accountant for the Port Authority of New Y0rk 
                        and New Jersey in Manhattan, N.Y., for many years, 
                        retiring on Jan. 16, 1984. 
						
						
						
						Gus was a devoted family man with a big heart and a good 
                        sense of humor. He loved his family dearly, and he will 
                        be truly missed by those who knew him, especially his 
                        wife of 62 years, Filomena 'Minnie' M. (nee Ciccone); 
                        his sons, August M. Jr., and Steven and his wife, 
                        Eileen, and his three grandchildren, Steven Jr., Gina 
                        and Amanda. 
						
						
						
						A celebration of Gus' life will be held at a later date.
