John P. O'Connell, age 72, of Brick, passed away on
Saturday, March 15, 2014, at home. Born and raised in
Jackson Heights, NY, he lived in Emerson and Laurence
Harbor prior to moving to Brick in 2002. He worked as a
Supervisor for the Port Authority of New York and New
Jersey in Weehawken for 32 years before retiring in
1996. John was a member of the Jersey Coast Sports
Fliers and was a parishioner of St. Dominic's Church in
Brick. He served in the United States Navy during the
Vietnam War.
John is survived by his wife Victoria (Dugan) O'Connell;
2 daughters Colleen Naumov and her husband Victor of New
Milford and Siobhain Auer and her husband Jon of
Emerson; and 4 grandchildren Bryant, Conor, Aidan, and
Shaelyn.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from 2-4 &
7-9 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick.
A funeral mass will be offered on Wednesday at 10 am at
St. Dominic's Church, Brick. Cremation will be private.
