Joseph F. Lucarello Sr.
1929 - 2014
Joseph F. Lucarello Sr., 84, of the Parlin section of
Sayreville, N.J., died Friday, May 30, 2014, in the
Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge, N.J.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at
8:45 a.m. from The
Gundrum Service Home For Funerals,
237 Bordentown Ave., South Amboy, N.J., followed by a
9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church,
South Amboy. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial
Park, East Brunswick, N.J.. Visitation will be on Monday
from 4 to 8 p.m.
Born and raised in Bayonne, N.J., Mr. Lucarello moved to
Parlin in 1988.
Before retiring, he was employed as an electrician by
the Port Authority of NY & NJ, stationed in Port Newark,
then in Fort Lee, N.J.
Mr. Lucarello was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church,
South Amboy, N.J., where he was a part of the R.C.I.A.
program. He was also a 3rd Degree member of the Knights
of Columbus, Our Lady of Victories Council 2061,
Sayreville, and the American Legion.
Mr. Lucarello served in the U.S Marine Corps, and then
enlisted in U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Son of the late Gaetano and Concetta Iazzatta Luccarelli,
he was also predeceased by his brothers and sister,
Augustine, Michael and Salvator Lucarello, and Edith
Force.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susette Romano
Lucarello; his son, Joseph F. Lucarello Jr. and his
wife, Tracie, of Bayonne, N.J.; his brothers, Vincent
and Ralph Lucarello of Bayonne, N.J.; two grandchildren,
Alyssa and Joseph, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's
Church, 256 August St., South Amboy, N.J. 08879 for the
Helping Hands ministry.
