Thomas Hannon
Hannon
Thomas P., age 83 of Wyckoff, died peacefully on
Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Born in New York City, Tom
moved to Wyckoff in 1968.
He was employed by the
Port Authority of NY/NJ for 35 years and retired in 1985
as Operations Director for the World Trade Center. In
his later career he was employed by the Paramus Board of
Education.
Tom was involved in many
community activities including the Shade Tree Commission
and served as Bailiff for the Township Court. He
received the William E. Boye, Jr. Humanitarian Award
presented by the Wyckoff Family YMCA in 2005. Tom served
on the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Dept. since 1971 and was
President of the Association of Protection Fire Company
#1. He was very involved in the Advent Lutheran Church.
Surviving is his loving
wife of 46 years, Gaye A. (nee Kohan), and his devoted
daughter, Kyle Bickford. Tom is also survived by his
adoring grandsons, Cole, Drew and Grant and his nephews
James and George Hannon. Tom was pre-deceased by his son
Dana Rey Hannon in 2001.
The Hannon family will
receive friends on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, 5-8 PM at the
Vander Plaat Funeral Home
