John P. Faldetta April 18, 1921 - August 18, 2014 Obituary John P. Faldetta of Massapequa Park, New York, died peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2014. He was born on April 18, 1921 in Canicatti, Sicily, the son of Alfonsina and Eduardo Faldetta and brother of the late Mary Faldetta. He is survived by his wife Irene and children -- Janice (Rich) Dobson, Ann, Carol (Kevin) Malone, Peter (Tricia Waring), Susan (David) Adams, John (Danielle) and Laura (Gregory) Begg. He was the loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren. John was a proud Veteran who served in the Army during World War II. He began his career with the Port Authority where he worked for 36 years and retired as Assistant Chief of Operations at JFK Airport. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the local chapter of the AARP, and took an active part in community service. He was an ombudsman for nine years at various nursing homes, and volunteered at his parish Outreach program. Most of all, John enjoyed many years of singing and acting with his show group at local venues. Service Information Visitation
