Doris E. Landre

Doris E., 90, died on November 6, 2013 in Ridgewood, NJ.

Born in Flushing, Queens, she graduated from Barnard and earned a master's degree from Smith. She served with the Navy WAVES from 1942-45. In a 30 year career at the Port Authority of NY and NJ, she rose to the position of Secretary to the Board of Commissioners, the highest ranking woman in the agency.

After retirement, she moved to Wyckoff, where she lived for 22 years.

Miss Landre was a longtime member of West Side Tennis Club, The Skating Club of NY, Ridgewood Women's Club, Garden Club of NJ and College Club of NJ.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 14 at 10 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, Ridgewood.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge, 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ 07436.
