A graduate of Fordham University, John served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He also worked for over 20 years for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, after working for ABC News. John was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and was a member of the Hobbyists.
Family and friends may visit Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at
the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood,
NJ. Funeral Mass Wednesday, 10:45 AM, at Our Lady of Mt.
Carmel RC Church in Ridgewood, followed by entombment at

John F., of Ridgewood for 54 years, passed away
Saturday, May 4th, 2013. Beloved husband of
Margaret "Peggy" Hughes. Loving father of John Hughes,
Jr., Carol Thomas and husband Peter and Marianne
McGuinness and husband Gerard. Cherished grandfather of
Clare, Chris, Colin, Catie, Meg, Lizzie and John.
