Robert E. Scarrone
Robert E.
Scarrone, 75, a 44-year resident of Rumson,
N.J., died at his home, surrounded by his loving
family, on Saturday, May 19, 2012. Visitation
will take place Tuesday, May 22, from 3 to 9
p.m. at Holy Cross R.C. Church, 30 Ward Ave.,
Rumson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Wednesday, May 23, at 10 a.m. at
the church. Interment will follow at Mount
Olivet Cemetery, Middletown, N.J. John E. Day
Funeral Home, Red Bank, N.J., is entrusted with
arrangements.

Bob was born in Jersey City, N.J., and raised in
Union City, N.J. He was a proud 1955
graduate of St. Michael's High School, Union
City. He married his high school
sweetheart and moved to Rumson where they raised
their family. Bob was a longtime communicant of
Holy Cross R.C. Church, Rumson.
While a police
officer for the Port Authority of New Jersey and
New York, Bob was very active as PBA vice
president, and took part in negotiations with
the Port Authority. After 22 years of service,
Bob retired, and became an investigator for the
Department of Labor. He was the gin rummy champ
of Donovan's Reef, Sea Bright, N.J. Robert
was an avid fan and watched his grandchildren
participate in sports. He had a support
system from his loving friends, Rita and Jerry
Carney, and the Faistl and O'Brien families.
Bob was
predeceased by his parents, Eugene Scarrone and
Concette Petracca, and a son, Steven Gerard
Scarrone, in 1984. He is survived by his spouse
of 53 years, Patricia Quinn Scarrone; three sons
and their wives, Thomas and Linda of Long
Branch, N.J., Robert and Maria of Rumson, and
Michael and Tina of Rumson; three daughters,
Patricia Ann Gordinier and her husband, Karl, of
Monmouth Beach, N.J., Mary Beth Gammon and her
husband, Ted, of Oceanport N.J., and Anne Marie
Scarrone of Highlands, N.J., and 16
grandchildren, Missy, Michael, Diana, Lisa,
Danielle, Jack, Claire, Mary, Kathleen, and
Elizabeth Scarrone, Evan, Jamie, Quinn and
Charlie Gordinier, and Kathryn and Megan Gammon.
