						Thomas I. Pittarese, 63, of Edison, passed away 
						Wednesday at his home.
						Born in Brooklyn, he resided in Edison for 40 years.
						
						He was a Port Authority Police Patrolman for 26 years. 
						He then went to St. Peters College where he received his 
						Master's Degree. He became an Adjunct Criminal Justice 
						Professor at St. Peters College in Jersey City, where he 
						was employed for 5 years.
						
						He was a parishioner of St. Matthew's RC Church, Edison 
						and a former head of the Ethics Baord in Edison.
						
						Thomas is predeceased by his parents Ignatius and 
						Angelina Pittarese; his brother Frank Pittarese; 
						brother-in-law Salvatore Guzzardi and sister-in-law 
						Shelby Pittarese.
						
						Surviving are his children Jennifer Pittarese of Edison, 
						Christopher Pittarese of Tinton Falls and Timothy 
						Pittarese of Edison; one sister Ann Guzzardi of Edison 
						and one brother Rocco Pittarese of Adairsville, Georgia.
						
						Funeral services will take place Saturday 8:45am at 
						Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt.27) 
						Metuchen (costello-runyn.com) followed by a Funeral Mass 
						at 9:30am at St. Matthew's RC Church, Edison.
						
						Interment will be at Resurrection Burial Park, 
						Piscataway.
						
						Visitation is Friday 2-4 and 7-9.
