Rudolph L. Marini
formerly of Point Pleasant
Rudolph L. Marini died peacefully on Thursday,
June 14, 2012 at home surrounded by family. Mr. Marini
was born in Union City, New Jersey, moved to Point
Pleasant, NJ in 1968 eventually moving to Middleburg,
Florida in 2004.
Mr Marini was a graduate of Emerson
High School and a graduate of New York University with
an Aeronautical Engineering Degree. Mr. Marini was a
decorated WW II veteran making Staff Sargent and honored
by the French Government as a Chevalier, the highest
award they give to soldiers for their war efforts. Mr.
Marini was awarded 4 Battle Pins including one for The
Battle of The Bulge.
Mr. Marini worked for the Port
Authority of New York and New Jersey for 40 years
retiring as Duty Manager of Newark International Airport
in 1988. A job that afforded him many opportunities to
meet and befriend many famous people, including Richard
Nixon, Frank Sinatra, Ronald Regan and many more
including the Queen of England some which became a first
name basis relationship. He was a member of the
Republican Committee and served two terms on the Point
Pleasant Board of Education and was also a former Board
Member and President at Bay Head Shores Property owners
Association.
Mr. Marini is predeceased by his mother, Virginia;
father, Domenico; 3 brothers, George, Donald and Joseph
and a sister, Rose. He leaves behind his wife of 63
years, Nancy; a son, Victor and his wife Colleen; three
grandchildren, Jade of Manchester NJ, Summer and her
husband Dale of Middleburg Florida and Nicklaus of Brick
NJ and 5 great grandchildren, Caleb, Damon, Victoria,
Richard and Ryan Nicole.
The family is having a Memorial Service Monday, June
18th at 10:30 am at Saint Lukes Catholic Church, 1606
Blanding Blvd., Middleburg, Florida 32068.
