Philip R. Leary, 67, 
								of Toms River, N.J., died at home on Monday, 
								Jan. 16. There will be no calling hours.  
								Arrangements are being handled by 
								
								Oliverie Funeral Home in Manchester, N.J. 
								
								A Funeral Liturgy will be 
								offered at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at St. 
								Genevieve's Church in Elizabeth, N.J. Entombment 
								will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, N.J. 
								Born in Elizabeth, Philip lived there for 62 
								years before moving to Lake Ridge in Toms River, 
								five years ago. 
								
								He was a police officer in 
								Elizabeth for eight years, and later with the 
								Port Authority of NY/NJ for 14 years. In 1967, 
								Philip served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He 
								worked in the Elizabeth mayor's office before 
								becoming secretary for the the city's Alcohol 
								Beverage Control Board. Philip was an 
								Eucharistic minister and altar server at St. 
								Genevieve's Church, Elizabeth.  He was a 
								member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 253. 
								Philip also belonged to the Union County Emerald 
								Society, the Port Authority Retired Police 
								Association, and the Elizabeth-Linden Elks.
								
								
								He was predeceased by his 
								parents, and beloved son, Paul. Philip is 
								survived by his wife of 35 years, Regina; son, 
								Philip; brothers, Edward and Charles; two 
								beautiful granddaughters, and many nieces and 
								nephews.
