Dominick F., 78, of Wood-Ridge formerly of Jersey City passed away on September 19, 2012. Born in Hoboken to the late Joseph and Anna Evangelista. Before retiring, Dominick was a sergeant for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in Newark. He was a former president and executive secretary for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey P.B.A. and a prominent union representative.

Dominick was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a member of the V.F.W. Post 3616 in Wood-Ridge. Beloved husband of Bernadine (nee Fedora) Evangelista. Devoted father of Joanne Giachetti and her husband Charles of Lackawaxen, Pa., Debbie Evangelista of Newton and her late husband Chris Hayes and Deirdre Evangelista of Wood-Ridge. Dear brother of Joseph Evangelista and his wife Patricia of Georgia and Camille Schlemm and her husband Gerard of Secaucus. Loving grandfather of Nicole Acabou and her husband Henrique of Elizabeth.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Monday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church Wood-Ridge at 9:30 AM. Interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
