Joseph M. Costa, 85, of Livingston, N.J., 
								passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 
								2012, surrounded by his loving family. 
								
								The Funeral Mass 
								celebrating his life will be offered at St. 
								Philomena's Church, 386 S. Livingston Ave., 
								Livingston, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Entombment 
								will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East 
								Hanover, N.J. Visiting hours will be held today 
								from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the

								Joe was an engineer with 
								the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey 
								for many years. As a communicant of St. 
								Philomena's Church, Livingston, he served as an 
								Eucharistic minister, usher, president of the 
								Parish Council, and taught CCD, RCIA, Cursillo, 
								and ran retreats to St. Paul's Abby. He was a 
								member of the Holy Name Society and Knights of 
								Columbus. He also volunteered at St. Ann's Food 
								Pantry. 
								
								Joe is survived by 
								Theresa, his loving and devoted wife for 59 
								years; his beloved children, Janet and her 
								husband, Paul, Joseph and his wife, Laura, 
								Irene, and Theresa and her husband, Richard, and 
								six grandchildren, Kimberly, Jacqueline, 
								Christopher, Paul, Gregory and Kevin. In lieu of 
								flowers, the family requests donations be made 
								in his memory to St. Philomena's Church.
