Frederick A. Almerino, 89, of Brick Township, 
								N.J., passed away after a sudden illness on 
								Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Ocean Medical 
								Center, surrounded by his loving family. 
								
								
								
								Relatives and friends are invited to call 
								Thursday, Sept. 13, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 
								O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., 
								Brick, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 
								offered Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at 9 a.m. at St. 
								Dominic's Church, Brick, N.J., followed by 
								burial at Pine Lawn Memorial Park, Long Island, 
								N.Y.

								Frederick was 
								born May 31, 1923, in the Bronx, N.Y., to 
								Salvatore and Minnie (Squillante) Almerino. 
								Graduating at 16 from high school, he attended 
								City College before enlisting in the Army Air 
								Force in 1942.  Returning to New York after World 
								War II, he earned his CPA from Fordham 
								University and met and married his beloved wife, 
								Kathleen A. McCaffrey.  He later joined the Port 
								Authority of New York and New Jersey, ascending 
								to vice president of business and development 
								before retiring after 30 years of service.  
								
								
								After 
								the loss of his wife of 38 years, he relocated 
								to Brick, N.J., in 1995 and found happiness 
								again with cherished companion of 18 years, 
								Josephine Martino.  He is remembered for his 
								devotion to his family, sage advice and 
								ever-present love and support. He is survived by 
								four children and their spouses, Celeste Whirt 
								(James), Leslie Almerino (David Koczot), Megan 
								Rock (John Martin), J.R Almerino (Laura), and 
								loving grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Michael, 
								Stephanie, Julia and Marissa.  Memorial 
								contributions in Mr. Almerino's name may be 
								directed to the Ocean Medical Center Foundation, 
								1345 Campus Parkway, S-A2, Neptune, N.J. 07753.
