Marcia Moore
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Marcia
Moore, 54, of Prince’s Bay, a Port Authority
manager, died Friday at home of complications associated
with amyotropic lateral sclerosis.
The former Marcia Lugin was born in Jersey City. She
moved to Staten Island 26 years ago, living in
Eltingville briefly before settling in Prince’s Bay.
She graduated from St. Peter’s College in Jersey City
with a degree in history.
Mrs. Moore worked for the Port
Authority as a business manager in the engineering
division, first at the World Trade Center, later in
Jersey City and finally in Newark. She retired, due to
illness, last February after 32 years.
Mrs. Moore gardened and cooked, and she enjoyed making
household repairs. She liked spending time at her
family’s vacation home in Florida. She and her husband,
John, were married 28 years. He recalled, “She was a
great person, a wonderful wife and mother.”
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son,
John Jr.; a brother, Thomas Ward, and two sisters,
Maureen Cubberly and Jane Lugan.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, January 22 at 10:30 a.m. in
Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church at 90 Third Street
(New Dorp) on Staten
Island, NY 10306
Arrangements, including cremation, are being handled by
the Hanley Funeral Home, New Dorp.

away at her home in Staten Island, NY with her family by
her bedside.
