STATEN 
							ISLAND, N.Y. — Betty Hanan, 93, of Bay Terrace, 
							a Manhattan native and keypunch operator, died 
							Sunday in Carmel Richmond Healthcare and 
							Rehabilitation Center, Dongan Hills. 
							
							Born Betty 
							Blum in Manhattan, Mrs. Hanan moved to Huguenot as a 
							young girl and attended Tottenville High School. She 
							settled in Bay Terrace around 10 years ago. 
							
							
							She worked 
							for approximately 15 years as a keypunch operator 
							for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, 
							retiring in 1979. 
							In her leisure time Mrs. Hanan enjoyed reading, 
							gardening flowers and vegetables, and had a fondness 
							for animals.  “She loved dogs,” said her son, 
							Richard.  
							
							Mrs. Hanan 
							was a member of the Prince’s Bay Reformed Church 
							since 1930.   Her husband of 21 years, 
							Richard, died in 1964.  In addition to her son, 
							Richard, she is survived by one grandson. 
							
							
							Arrangements 
							are being handled by the Casey Funeral Home, 
							Castleton Corners, with a graveside service at 10:30 
							a.m. on Friday at the Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood, 
							where burial will follow.
