Her friends at The Port Authority were saddened to learn of the passing of Mary Sumter on Saturday, November 27, 2010.   Ms. Sumter is survived by her husband, Gary, and her children, Ondeka, Kariuki,  Shuaibe, Mahdi and Bandah.
 
Ms. Sumter joined the Port Authority on  June 16, 1987.  At the time of her death, Ms. Sumter held the position of Toll Collector assigned to the Holland Tunnel.
 
Friends will be received at the Holy Ghost Tabernacle Church, 517 Communipaw Avenue, Jersey City, NJ on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at the Zion Baptist Church, 521 Bramhall Avenue, Jersey City, NJ on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at the Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, NJ.
