Michael J. Lynch WEST WINDSOR, NJ - Michael
J. Lynch, 71, of West Windsor, NJ, died April 23.
Born in Jackson Heights, NY, he lived in West
Windsor, NJ, since 1972. A graduate of St. John's
University, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Mike Lynch worked for The Port
Authority of NY & NJ in the World Trade Center from
1967 until his retirement in 1996. He was a past
president of The New York Claims Association and
also served as president of the New York Claims
Conference. Mr. Lynch was a past president of the
West Windsor Lions Club, served on the West Windsor
Zoning Board, and was a Melvin Jones Fellow
recipient. Mr. Lynch was active in Habitat for
Humanity and also served as a longtime board member.
He also served on the citizen advisory board for The
Marie H. Katzenbach School for the Deaf.
Survivors include his wife of
43 years, Virginia Lynch; his sons, Thomas and
Eileen Gittins of Ewing, Brian Gittins and Joseph
Abbate of Staten Island, NY, and Michael Lynch of
Winter Park, FL; a daughter and son-in-law, Ellen
and Joseph Funari of Media, PA; five grandsons,
Christopher, Stephen, Vito, Joseph Funari of Media,
PA, and Thomas Gittins of Ewing, NJ; three brothers,
Father Frank Lynch of Florida, Edward of Boston, and
John of Washington, DC, and a sister, Maureen
Cummings of Connecticut.
A Memorial Mass will be
officiated by the deceased's brother, Father Frank
Lynch, on Saturday, May 15, at 11 a.m. at St. David
the King Catholic Church, located in West Windsor,
NJ, on 1 New Village Rd. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made in the name of
Michael J. Lynch and sent to The Archbishop Molloy
High School Scholarship Fund. The address is 83-53
