ENGLISH James D., 89,
husband of Muriel (Bayley), passed away Sunday,
December 5, 2010. Born in Jersey City, NJ, Mr.
English lived in Pompton Lakes, NJ, since 1953,
coming from Little Falls, NJ. He served in the US
Navy during WWII, landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day
and serving in the Battle of North Africa.
He
received a BS from St. Peter's College, Jersey City,
NJ, and his MBA from NYU, NY. Mr. English was
employed as a general manager-accountant by Port
Authority, NY. He was a member of the VFW Post 2906,
Pompton Lakes, the Railway Industrial Clearance
Assn. of No. America, and St. Mary's Church, Pompton
Lakes.
In addition to his wife, surviving are his
son, Donald (and wife, Gale), daughter, Christine
Hailey (and husband, Lenard) of AZ, and
grandchildren, Alexander and Lyle. Funeral Service
8:30 PM, Thursday, at the Richards Funeral Home, 4
Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, NJ. Visitation
Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
