Charles Donald Desfosse,
75, passed away on Dec. 28,
2010. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday,
Jan. 10, 2011, at Layton's Home For Funerals, 250 Lacey
Rd., Forked River, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be offered
at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at the Church of
Saint Pius X, Forked River, N.J. Burial will follow at
Saint Mary's Cemetery, Stafford Township.
Affectionately known as Charlie by friends and family,
Mr. Desfosse grew up in Jersey City, N.J., and later
lived in Ridgefield Park, N.J., before retiring to Cape
Coral, Fla., in 1993. He served for two years in the
Armed Services as a military police officer with the
Army, spending some of that time in Germany.
Charlie was
employed by Western Electric in Kearny, N.J., for seven
years before becoming a police officer for the Port
Authority of N.Y./N.J. in 1962. He retired a sergeant
with the Port Authority in 1993.
He enjoyed sports,
hunting, and fishing, and was an expert marksman.
Charlie is survived by sons, Donald Desfosse, Richard
Desfosse and Charles Desfosse; daughters, Joyce Desfosse-McGregor,
Dawn Ann Desfosse-Applegate and Karin Gesell-Miller;
grandchildren, Raymond Desfosse, Stacy Desfosse-Mims,
Charles Desfosse, Donald DJ Desfosse, Taylor Applegate,
Kimberly Desfosse, Josh Miller and Alicia Miller;
great-grandchildren, Heather Desfosse, Johnee Mims,
Sottee Mims and Joshua Desfosse, and his former wife,
Agnes Joyce Cash-Desfosse.
In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to the families of officers killed in the
line of duty. Please make checks payable the Port
Authority PBA Widow's and Children's Fund and include
Charles Desfosse on the memo line. Mail your donations

Cliffs, N.J. 07632.
